| I was at home the other night in the middle of my dinner when the phone rang. | |
| ME: | Hello. |
| AT&T: | Hello, this is AT&T. |
| ME: | Is this AT&T. |
| AT&T: | Yes, this is AT&T ... |
| ME: | This is AT&T. |
| AT&T: | Yes, this is AT&T ... |
| ME: | Is this AT&T.? |
| AT&T: | Yes! This is AT&T, may I speak to Mr. Byron, please? |
| ME: | May I ask who is calling? |
| AT&T: | This is AT&T. |
| ME: | OK, hold on. |
| At this point I put the phone down for a solid 5 minutes thinking that, surely, this person would have hung up the phone. I ate my salad. Much to my surprise, when I picked up the receiver, they were still waiting. | |
| ME: | Hello? |
| AT&T: | Is this Mr. Byron? |
| ME: | May I ask who is calling, please? |
| AT&T: | Yes, this is AT&T ... |
| ME: | This is AT&T? |
| AT&T: | Yes, this is AT&T ... |
| ME: | The phone company. |
| AT&T: | Yes, sir. |
| ME: | I thought you said this was AT&T. |
| AT&T: | Yes, sir, we are a phone company. |
| ME: | I already have a phone. |
| AT&T: | We aren't selling phones today, Mr. Byron. We would like to offer you 10 cents a minute, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. |
| ME: | Now, that's 10 cents a minute, 24 hours a day? |
| AT&T: | (getting a little excited at this point by my interest) Yes, sir, that's right! 24 hours a day! |
| ME: | 7 days a week.? |
| AT&T: | That's right. |
| ME: | 365 days a year.? |
| AT&T: | Yes, sir. |
| ME: | I am definitely interested in that! Wow!!! That's amazing! |
| AT&T: | We think so! |
| ME: | That's quite a sum of money! |
| AT&T: | Yes, sir, it's amazing how it adds up. |
| ME: | OK, so will you send me checks weekly, monthly or just one big one at the end of the year for the full $52,560; and if you send an annual check, can I get a cash advance? |
| AT&T: | Excuse me? |
| ME: | You know, the 10 cents a minute. |
| AT&T: | What are you talking about? |
| ME: | You said you'd give me 10 cents a minute, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. That comes to $144 per day, $1008 per week and $52,560 per year. I'm just interested in knowing how you will be making payment. |
| AT&T: | Oh, no, sir. I didn't mean we'd be paying you. You pay us 10 cents a minute. |
| ME: | Wait a minute, how do you figure that by saying that you'll give me 10 cents a minute, that I'll give YOU 10 cents a minute? Is this some kind of subliminal telemarketing scheme? I've read about things like this in the Enquirer, you know. |
| AT&T: | No, sir, we are offering 10 cents a minute for |
| ME: | THERE YOU GO AGAIN! Can I speak to a supervisor please? |
| AT&T: | Sir, I don't think that is necessary. |
| ME: | I insist on speaking to a supervisor! |
| AT&T: | Yes, Mr. Byron. Please hold. |
| At this point, I begin trying to finish my dinner. | |
| SUPERVISOR: | Mr. Byron? |
| ME: | Yeah. |
| SUPERVISOR: | I understand you are not quite understanding our 10 cents a minute program. |
| ME: | Is This A T &T? |
| SUPERVISOR: | Yes, sir, it sure is. |
| ME: | (I had to swallow before I choked on my food. It was all I could do to suppress my laughter and I had to be Careful not to produce a snort.) No, actually, I was just waiting for someone to get back to me so that I could sign up for the plan. |
| SUPERVISOR: | Ok, no problem, I'll transfer you back to the person who was helping you. |
| ME: | Thank you. |
| I was on hold once again and managed a few more mouthfuls. I need to end this conversation. Suddenly, there was an aggravated but polite voice at the other end of the phone. | |
| AT&T: | Hello, Mr. Byron, I understand that you are interested in signing up for our plan.? |
| ME: | No, but I was wondering - do you have that "Friends and Family" thing because I'm an only child and I'd really like to have a little brother... |

I say this all the time but I soooooooooo miss my boyfriend!
I miss walking in his house and getting a ‘hey baby’ and a kiss upon entry. I miss him saying ’ come here baby’ when we’re sitting too far away from each other. I miss watching him sleep. I miss being the spoonER and not the spoonEE lol. I miss watching him play NCAA ‘12 and Madden ‘12. I miss hearing him say ’ where u goin baby?’ when I cant stay the night. I miss holding his hand. I miss laying on his chest. I miss his arms around me. I MISS HAVING SEX! *I’m talking GREAT SEX* I miss talking to him face to face. I miss his smile. I miss seeing him laugh. I miss taking that 15 minute drive to his house. I miss taking pictures of him sleeping lol. I miss everything about him! And it absolutely SUCKS ASS not being able to see him when I want to.
Also, I don’t really get to talk to him like I want to and that makes him being away that much harder. Sometimes I call him just to hear his voice. I don’t always have anything to say, but when I hear his voice on the other end I feel a whole lot better. There are some things that I still haven’t told him, but that’s only because there are some conversations that are better had in person. But we’ll see.
I just miss him. It’s been almost a month since we’ve seen each other..that’s way too long!

A lot of people talk about finding love, needing love, wanting love, knowing love, loving love, hating love, giving love, receiving love, showing love, and things of that nature..
But not me.
My relationship with love is a complicated one. Actually, we don’t have a personal relationship. We didn’t grow up together, and we definitely weren’t high school sweethearts. Me and love don’t have some epic story that would bring people together or to tears. To be honest with you, me and love aren’t on speaking terms.
Love acts like it’s too good for me.
I’m pretty sure I’ve been in the same room as love and it just turned it’s head and acted like I was there. I’ve seen love almost purposely reach around me and catch the attention of someone else. Someone undeserving of loves connection and affection, comfort, late night talks, warm embraces, caring words, and encouraging prayers. Someone who after a matter of months, would only shatter someone elses belief in love.
But those are love’s best friends.

For my 25th birthday, I got a room downtown at The Hilton Garden Inn and celebrated with a few of my closest friends *and a few people I’m just cool with lol*.
Anywho, the first night we were there we were all getting ready to go out, and my boyfriend came up to the room. He didn’t go out with us, but he came and hung out with us for a while. When he got there we everyone was just talkin and hangin out having a good time.
I took a shower and when I got out I sat on my bed and was putting lotion on my legs and then Jerry did one of the sweetest things, he helped me finish lotioning my legs. I know it’s a small gesture and maybe not that meaningful to some people, but I thought it was really freakin sweet.

About a week ago I went to dinner with one of my best friends and two of our friends. Now me and my bestie have boyfriends or *something like it* and the other two women are single. Well, we got on the subject of relationships and at that moment I realized why they could never be in my REAL FRIEND circle.
One of them said ‘I don’t respect girlfriends.’ And her friend just cosigned.
That was an immediate RED FLAG because *hello* I am a girlfriend. And I am very territorial and I do no tolerate disrespect especially when it comes to my relationship. That just made me think that if I introduced her to my guy and she thought he was her type she wouldn’t hesitate to flirt or do something even more shady to get with him. I also thought that if she saw him out she’d approach him without any thought about me.
I kind of brushed that feeling to the side until we went out last night.
I saw a guy that I used to hang out with, and was holding a conversation with him and the ‘cosigner’ just got right between us and tried to make him remember her when clearly she saw us talking. It didn’t bother me that she wanted to talk to him or anything like that. What bothered me was the disrespectful way she did it. It just made me think that if she saw me with my guy *who i haven’t introduced her to* if she thought he was attractive she’d do the same thing.
I just feel really uneasy about them both now.
